William Selby Sr.
  • In 1681 500 acres of a tract called Leith on the west bank of the Patuxent River in Old Calvert Manor purchased from Ninian Beall via James Moore.
  • In 1697 purchased 350 acres located just west of the Patuxent River in a tract of land called Leith in the area of Too Good.
  • In 1698 purchased the eastern half of Essex Lodge (150 acres) on the west side of the Patuxent River in woods near a creek called Mattapany.
  • At the time of William's death he had amassed 1450 acres of land on the west side of the Patuxent River near the Mattapany (Mattaponi) Creek.

William Selby Jr.
  • In 1698 together with brother Charles (who may have died young and without heirs), inherited 550 acres of Leith and 150 acres of Groomes Lodge from his father.
  • In 1722 brother Samuel sells his inheritance (350 acres of Too Good) to William.
  • In 1725 purchased 384 acres of land called Chews Folly (probably located near Chew Road between Croom and Upper Marlboro) from Joseph Chew.
  • According to William's will 1234 acres of land were distributed to his six sons and two daughters.

Joseph Selby
  • Inherited 100 acres of Leith from his father in 1732.
  • Sold 60 acres of Leith to John Orme in 1749.
  • In 1786 Joseph's estate was divided equally among his seven children.

Jesse Selby
  • Inherited an equal part of his father's property in 1786.
  • In 1829 purchased 10 acres called Doves Perch from Thomas Kemp.
  • Purchased 104 acres called Taylorton from G. Gantt in 1830.
  • Purchased 99 acres at public auction and sold it to Samuel L. Selby (son) in 1832.
  • In 1843 Jesse's will was probated. Thomas, Mary Ann, Samuel, Joseph, and Priscella each receive $500. Elizabeth, Jesse, James, John, and wife Martha inherit equal portions of the estate both real and personal.

Joseph Henry Selby

  • In 1854 purchased 270 acres called Boone's from William Turton.
  • In 1857 purchased 41-7/8 acres from John B. Brooke part of Boone's Chance, but now called Selby's Purchase beginning along the west southwest line of a tract of land called Brooke Wood near the beginning of a parcel of land called Boone's Folly and running to a stake standing on the main road leading from the Roman Chapel towards Upper Marlboro.
  • In 1864 Joseph Henry Selby's will was probated with each of five children receiving $302 and 55 acres of land.

Edwin Jeremiah Selby
  • In 1864 inherited 55 acres from his father (Boone's Farm).
  • Together with J. Henry Selby sells 9 acres near Shepards Spring to Charles E. Eversfield in 1873.

Frank Willes Selby
  • In 1921 60 acres of land (Boone's Farm) was deeded to Frank W. Selby, the same land upon which Edwin J. resided in his lifetime and the same land deeded to him by his father Joseph H.
